PHOTOSHOOT LOCATIONS IN THE HAMILTON & BURLINGTON AREA

One of the most common questions I get from clients is: “Where should we do our session?”

And honestly — it matters more than people think. Choosing the right location can completely change how your photos turn out and the overall feel of your session.

Try to keep your location within about 30 minutes of home if possible. Sessions are always more relaxed when you’re not rushing or dealing with a long drive — especially with kids. A calm start makes a big difference.

Lighting is everything when it comes to beautiful photos. I typically book sessions in the morning around 9:00–10:00 AM, and again in the evening starting around 3:00 PM, with the best light happening between 6:00 and sunset. That soft, golden light is what gives your photos that warm, dreamy look.

I love bright, soft, airy images — that’s the style you see throughout my work. If a location has no shade at all, you’ll end up with harsh shadows and blown-out highlights, which isn’t the look we’re going for.

Having some shade gives us flexibility. It allows me to adjust and still create beautiful images, even if timing shifts a bit or the light isn’t perfect.

I’m totally comfortable shooting in busy spots, but I know not everyone is. If you’re more private or feel awkward in front of people, just let me know — I can suggest quieter locations or better times of day that feel more relaxed.
